I know most of us don't post much here anymore. Nowadays, I take 99% of my movie-related thoughts to social media like Twitter and Facebook, and there's only so much time for so many sites. But I'm here today to let you know that the man behind Reelviews, one James Berardinelli, has finally decided to write full-time. He was recently laid off from his job, and in order to keep his site running, he's thrown his hat into the Patreon ring.
He just started his Patreon page on July 1, and as of this writing, he's already more than halfway to his monthly goal. It would mean the world to me, not to mention to him, if everyone here supported him monetarily.
I'm giving $20 per month. I've followed his reviews and writings for more than 17 years, and it's the least I can do for all that he's done to influence my writing style and the way I approach movies. Without him and the late Roger Ebert, I'm not sure where I'd be today.
I strongly urge everyone to join in if you haven't already. You don't have to give the amount I do. The $10/mo level, the $5/mo. level or even the $2/mo. level would help a lot. And he's added some very appealing incentives for each level. Want him to review some older classics or one of your personal favorites? Now you can finally see it happen.
Remember, this is the man who created Reelviews Forum and brought us all together in the first place. I met some great people through that site who I still keep in contact with through social media.
Thank you for reading. Here's the link to his Patreon page. https://www.patreon.com/reelviews
